Leaders are born if not made…the epitome of class encompassing
an humbled young and visionary friend and a course-mate is an all time story
that I find so blessed to share to the entire world. sit back and enjoy!!
Learning in a congested class of
some village bamboo school back in Nyamira County didn't deter him from venturing seriously in the campaign against the massive injustice pool embedded in the carnal system of the rigid society we living in. The vision enmeshed in him was the burning candle ready to light the world. He chose as his core duty to pursue his will of championing the right of the voiceless and rose to a
selfless lawyer of all comrade fraternity after clinching a chance in Egerton university.
The best part of it, is how he
learned the dynamics of leadership and rose through all ages, defaulting the
odds to make it a reality in the highly
competitive learned friends league.
The passion to bring into record the nuisance in our system motivated him to contest as the Governor of
the Faculty of Environment and Resource Development at Egerton University in
his Second year and believe you me he won with a land slide. This was just an elevation of his leadership responsibilities, for previously in his 1st year was
chosen favorite shepherd for the
Eco-Tourism and Hospitality class. Through the humble mentor-ship of senior
University staff, Prof. Rose Mwonya DVC A/A, Deans Dr. Obweyere, Dr. John Mironga and Dr. Ogendi he was entirely modeled
into an all-round visionary man setting a record of smooth leadership and
transition without chaotic instances; for his drive of democratic dialogue
tipped him as a man of standards. Am talking of one and the only DAVIS MATTHEW.
A friend , colleague and my Faculty Governor. "May God bless you abundantly"
For the longest have known and
worked with him, he showcased first class maturity, exorbitant discipline and handled
situation with moderation. I challenge all comrades to follow closely to the
footsteps of this noble man, DAVIS in the overall aid of making Kenya a world
cosmopolitan as envisaged in vision 2030 goals.
His main test in leadership came
when he was a faculty Governor in the recent days of Egerton transition;from
manual to a digitalized university systems. Back then, accommodation rooms where booked
manually and this posed a tedious assignments for all comrades who had to queue
for long hour either to pay fee or pay for accommodation all the way to the
allocation of a cubicle to lay your head. When things went bad pirating was
the only way of survival tactic in the campus. Thanks our university management for
virtualizing everything in the university.
It was not a simple journey and as we all know leadership is not just an
event but a lifetime process more over a calling. A commitment to remain loyal to the society;
knocking all doors to ensure a lime light is their gross benefit.
Davis says, “Throughout my term I learned
that, living for humanity daily is my sole purpose in my entire life. That’s why
I will always support our visionary n able government which clearly showcases its
deepest sincere interest in women and youth empowerment as they constitute the larger
majority of the countries key team players. As Obama said,"a team with half of members
not playing will always lose" This highlight the plight of less developed
countries where Kenya is a not exempted yet.
Leadership is a calling, not a win
or lose business, he continues, its an inner urge to assist, direct, correct
and execute ones key responsibilities fairly without impartiality to all."Humanity First."
"To crown it all, i give Special thanks to My Greatest Family"MATTHEWS FAMILY" for the exemplary upbringing and the well chosen words of Wisdom. May the Almighty Lord keep you safe Enough to the enjoy the fruits of your toil. Love you all."
